What is a good design ??

One of the better brochures that caught interest was the brochure of the Duke Women’s basketball team.  Although it is one of the older ones dating back to the 2013-2014 season it had many eye catching details.  If you seen many athletic brochure’s it usually has just one or two of the main players on it, but this one has the whole team, which conveys more of a equal player opportunity instead of putting the spotlight on one player.  They also have good spacing and color within the brochure, due to their color being blue they didn’t put to much blue and they also did good by choosing to put the players in their white jerseys instead of their blue or black.   

A well designed and put together business card is very important when trying to promote your business.  One card that I seen that was very well put together and professional was the Bizcorp business card.  It has very nice color, and the lines and shapes that the card has brings your attention and drags yours eyes to different parts of the card.  Its also has good detail on the sides with the pictures of the little icons such as the phone, envelope, and the globe for the website.  The name on the card also is creative how the first name “Jorge” is in regular print, but then the last name “Lima” is in bold.  This card is very simple, but very well put together.  

This flyer is well designed, because it brings life to the person.  When you look at this flyer it looks like it will be a fun time, it’s also well put together because it clearly states what will be going on, the place of the event and how to get in contact with the facility.  The font is visible, not all over the flyer.  The colors in the pictures also bring a pop to the center of the flyer.  

Design’s that need assistance 

This brochure is not well designed for a couple reasons.  One the writing on the brochure is way to small, it makes it to hard for the reader to see and read without destroying their eyes.  Also the font of the writing is a problem, due to the fact that its already small font, the cursive writing does it no justice because all of the letter and words look very bunched together and tight.  I has nice color and a nice cover front page, but I also think they could have added more contact information than just the email.  The main problem was the font on the brochure, if they were to fix that or just make it bigger for the reader to see, it would be a beautiful design.  

This business card is not one of the best designed ones around.  It seems as though the card has to much space between al of the information.  The middle of the card is just blank then you have two lines on the bottom left and two on the bottom right.  It should have been a different layout for the information on the card, because its not enough to fill up the  whole card.  It looks like they spaced out of the writing and info just fill up the whole card.  A different layout and more creativeness would make this business card more successful. 

 This flyer is a bit much.  One thing that takes away from this design being well put together is the fact that the wording is all over the flyer.  It makes it extremely hard to understand what is going on and what the flyer is trying to express to the reader because you have 15 different words are popping out at you at one time.  It also is a bit bunched up, everything is on top of each other, the layout of the flyer needs to be different and spaced out more in order to fit the whole flyer, because its a lot of space around the edges that is not being used.
